Fahrenheit 451 (Part I)
When I discovered what Fahrenheit 451 was about, I was very intrigued because I have already read similar books like The Hunger Games, Divergent, The Giver, etc. It's so crazy to think about though - a world where people are forbidden to have/read books, and instead watch TV all day. But then again, society is somewhat already like that now. The generation that was born into technology lives off of it. You will rarely go outside and see someone enjoying a good book. Instead, many people spend most of their lives on some smart phone. And I'll even admit that I'm one of those people.
During the first 40 pages, some characters have already been introduced to us - like Guy Montag. He is just an ordinary fireman and I had neutral feelings about him. When Clarisse enters his life, and asks "Are you happy?" (Bradbury 7), he laughs it off because it's a question that isn't asked much, but soon he realizes that he's not happy. He starts to question his wife, where they met, and even asked his fellow workers about a time where fireman stopped fires instead of starting them, That's only the beginning of his character development and I can't wait to see more of what he learns about how life was like before and about books.
